INNOVATIVE & ICONIC INTERIORS

Interior 1

For this project, the interior of the house was completely gutted and dramatically rearranged. The Kitchen, once buried deep within the footprint, was moved to an outside corner and given a high ceiling.  In the Family Room, we put a new fireplace with surrounding built-ins, and the Master Bath was entirely reconfigured. We also designed a new Mudroom and Laundry, as well as a Library. We worked closely with the client to establish a vocabulary of interior details, then we combined elements of that vocabulary to fine tune the character of each space.

As part of a large addition and alteration project, we re-designed the interiors, providing a new Kitchen, Breakfast and Family Room area on the first floor, and a new Master Suite on the second floor. The client was very fond of cooking, so we carefully addressed each detail of the Kitchen with them, to ensure that their every whim was provided for. And for each room, as with all of our projects, we intently listened to the personal preferences of our client, making sure that they saw a reflection of themselves in the finished product.

This client had an average sized Kitchen which was adjacent to a larger Dining Room. The goal of the project was to take a few feet from the Dining Room and give it to the Kitchen, and in the process give the Kitchen a complete makeover.  To assist with this reconfiguration, we created a very large opening between the two rooms, which allowed each room to visually “borrow” space from the other, and seem even larger than they were.  Also, the introduction of a second species of wood in the Kitchen – the dark stained cherry – helped tie in the Kitchen cabinetry with the dark cherry fireplace breast at the opposite end of the Dining Room.

The existing First Floor Kitchen and living spaces in this home felt cramped and disconnected from each other.  So we opened the rooms up, creating a more casual and flowing layout, and introduced as much natural light as possible.  Then we embellished each room with functional and aesthetically-pleasing cabinetry, and also added a few thoughtful details.  The five-member family now enjoys spending both daytime and evening hours in their comfortable and inviting First Floor spaces.

Interior 2

The existing Kitchen in this client’s home was a bit undersized, and very underwhelming within the large, cathedral-ceiling space it occupied.  There was also a fair amount of unused square footage in the vicinity of the Kitchen and Breakfast Area, providing an opportunity to introduce some new and functional spaces.  Our solution incorporated more and taller Kitchen cabinets, a larger island, decorative trusses, skylights, and stone veneer behind the cook top.  To the delight of the client, we also added a Mudroom and Walk-In Pantry.  What a transformation!
